Welcome to Prison

This past week I embarked on a journey with the Kate White Band documenting their east Oregon prison tour. With three prisons on the itinerary and a fourth added while on the road, I got a lot of great footage of the band playing to prisoners. For the latter prison dates, I was not allowed to film, so I resorted to being the band’s roadie and got to chat with the tech guys working in the chapel.

All in all, it was a great experience, complete with driving back to Vancouver for the Innovators of Vancouver video release followed by a drive back to Idaho for the remainder of the tour.

I have never been in a prison before, but I can honestly say that I felt more welcome in every prison we went to than most “free” places that I go to on a weekly basis.

With that, I have a lot of work to catch up on, but I also have some examination to attend to: How will I include others in my life today?

Hey Chris,
I enjoyed being in prison with you. How many people can say that? It was good getting to know you through our travels this past week. And thanks for the help when a “roadie” was needed. I am more tired today than than through our grueling trip last week. But is a good tired.
